I Have Mixed Feelings

vday.jpg This is from xkcd. Love this guy. Which, of course, brings me to my topic. I would like to fall in love again. It hasn’t happened for a while. It’s time.

I might have better luck if once in a while I actually LEFT MY APARTMENT. I’m supposed to go the the Met today with my friend Marisa, but for the love of God. The universe is pelting us with tiny rocks. I don’t know about today. On the other hand, if she still wants to go, fine. I’ll have serious hat head though, so forget finding love at the Met.

I don’t remember which show Marisa is interested in, but I see there’s an exhibit of Harry Burton’s photographs of Tutankhamen. I just happen to be reading a book that early on had Carter’s answer when Lord Carnarvon asked him if he could see anything. (“Yes, wonderful things, strange animals, statues and gold–everywhere the glint of gold.”) So yeah, anything to do with mummies.

For my next book, I should pick a subject where I get to do things on that discovering-a-mummy’s-tomb level. (Technically, about someone else doing something on the discovering-a-mummy’s-tomb level.) Something that gets me out of the apartment more. As it happens, because of this current book, I was thinking I’d like to do a science book next. There’s endless riches there. Every day it seems like I read about something exciting in science.
