Matt Taibbi Update

I updated my original post, but I wanted to make sure this revelation wasn’t missed. A few days ago I posted in response to a what seemed like a very damning Washington Post article about Matt Taibbi. But I just read an article in Paste Magazine which provides another side to the story.

It looks like I can go right on admiring him. The Washington Post has some explaining to do. God, I can’t fact check every story I read, and apparently I wrongly trust papers like the Washington Post to do that for me.

A while back I used to regularly post pictures of clothes I saw in store windows that I can’t afford. I called the series A Dress I Can’t Possess. Here is one I saw recently.

  1. So glad you posted this Paste Magazine article (never heard of them?) because I was forming a picture of Taibbi in my head as a sleazeball. It was only SATIRE! WOW!

The Washington Post messed up which is not like them. I think Trump’s MO has made everyone a bit too sloppy with the “facts”. I hope Taibbi can recover his reputation.

  2. God, we all have to get off the Internet and turn off the news, don’t we.
On the other hand, thank God for the Internet, helping you fact-check the professionals, but of course who always has that kind of time?!?!
so I’m glad . I’ve got to do something over at Citizen Reader too–I do still love Matt Taibbi, in a way nobody cuts through bullshit like he does, but I am also glad to hear he’s not a complete jerk.

p.s. Paste Magazine does a lot of great book lists too; I’m a big fan.
