A simple thing like a new computer causes such an uproar in my life.  I guess that’s not so strange considering the fact that I basically live online.  But I’ve been caught up in installing and learning the ins and outs of my new MacBook.

I did leave the house for choir practice though.  This is not Grace Church.  Grace Church must have been tied up.  This is inside Judson Memorial.  They used to be a client of Echo’s!  We heard the soloists for our upcoming performance and they were marvelous.  I can also report that the et vitam venturi fugue is still kicking our asses.  But we’re getting there.  And I love the Missa Solemnis.

I’m on my new computer!!

I’m freaking out!  (Change freaks me out.  I freak out easy.  When things change.  Like now.) One thing I immediately don’t like is the edge along the MacBook is sharp and hurts my wrist when I type.  I need a pad or something.  Any suggestions?

My New Computer Arrives Today!!

I am beyond belief excited.  Cannot freaking wait.  I have a doctor’s appointment at 11:15 and I’m terrified it’s going arrive while I’m out.  I scheduled that because the computer was supposed to arrive tomorrow.  Oh well.  Maybe I’ll luck out.  Maybe NOT.

It’s a New Week!

New chances! New possibilities! My new-ish computer will be arriving! (I bought a re-furbished computer from Apple. Saved myself a couple of hundred dollars.)

That feeling of hope is of course struggling with, ‘Oh god, I don’t have the energy for yet another week, and a whole other round of disappointments!’

I quoted a favorite Joss Whedon line to my friend Chris the other day, and we laughed and laughed and laughed.  It’s a line from a song from the Buffy musical episode.

“Life’s a song you don’t get to rehearse, and every single verse can make it that much worse.”

Perfection.  Couldn’t have said it better myself.  And yet, I still hope for the best.

I’m going over to my friend Jackie’s today.  She’s going to help me upgrade WordPress.  I forget which part was scaring me, but something was scaring me.  This week is all about upgrading and confronting and dealing with all the new versions of everything.

That reminds me, I was thinking I’d like to try becoming a professional pet photographer.  I have to learn how to improve my photographs post-production, but I’ve signed up for an iphoto class to begin. This is Buddy, taken the day I learned he was finally gaining weight.

Flowers on the Way to the Movies

The lilacs in this shot are inside the apartment, the dogwoods are on the street.

Why is this light on in the afternoon?

These are cherry blossoms, right?  (I was raised underground.)
