New Camera

I’m seconds from hitting enter to buy a new camera. It’s just that it’s so expensive. It makes me ill to spend anything over $20. I have to remind myself that I will need it when my new book comes out, to take pictures and make movies to promote it. It’s both a business and pleasure purchase. Do it. Hit enter. DO IT.

AND, I must document the kittens. I’ve already missed their teeny period. This is Bodhi and Bleeck. I’m so grateful Bodhi loves Bleeck. Bali can take or leave him, but Bali is like that about everything. He’s not the passionate one, although he is curled up and purring on my lap at the moment. Can’t you tell how blissful Bleecker is in this picture?

Treasure Hunts and Serephine Troast

I have my name listed on the National Archives site as someone who can help with genealogical research. I really need to remove my name, but today I got a request for someone who is trying to track down if they have are any relatives in America, based on an ancestor who came here from Italy around 1905. I said I couldn’t help them, but then I couldn’t resist taking a look to see what I could find, and of course I went down the rabbit hole and found some present day relatives.

It was fun! And I came across a very interesting person to research, Serephine Troast (maiden name Scuto), who was a lieutenant in the Army during WWII.

But now I must go back to working on the source notes for my book. Some pigeons on my fire escape. I wonder if they are descendants of the pigeons I used to feed.

Telling Bodhi and Bali Apart

It’s easier now. That’s Bodhi on the left. He has a more angular, rat-like face, or bat-like face. Bali has a rounder, softer face and he’s bigger than Bodhi. I love them equally, but Bodhi is more affectionate, so I have to work on Bali, to warm him up. He’s affectionate too, he doesn’t need a lot of work. He’s just a tad skittish.

A Dress I Can’t Posses

You really can’t tell how pretty this is from this shot, but here is yet another dress I cannot possess. And unlike many dresses I see and like in windows, this one actually might look okay on me.

OH GOD. I just realized, I’ve been invited to the 9/11 Memorial & Museum Benefit Dinner and I have nothing to wear. Checking invitation … thank God. It says business attire. I’m okay. I don’t actually own any business attire anymore, but for a second I thought it was going to be black tie, and not only do I not have anything in that category in my closet, I wouldn’t be able to buy anything. I think I can manage to but together something acceptable for this.

Bleecker and Bodhi

Of the two kittens, Bodhi likes Bleecker best. He’ll often curl up with him to sleep, and initiate play. Here is Bodhi, nestled under Finney’s chin. This makes me more happy than I can say. For so long Bleecker only had Finney, who had zero interest in him. It was awful for everyone. Bali likes Bleecker too by the way, but Bodhi loves him. (Bodhi loves everyone though. SLUT.)
