Can’t Get On ‘Em, Love to Watch ‘Em

Thank you Jimmy and Cori for pulling over so I could take pictures of airplanes landing.  And for being patient and waiting while I kept trying over and over because I kept doing one thing or another wrong.  So you can imagine how annoyed I am with myself for not seeing that gray circle in the middle of all my shots and the movies, which I’m hoping was a rain drop.  Please say it’s a rain drop and not something else wrong with my camera.

Here is the movie followed by one still.  I took a bunch but none of them look good because of the rain drop.

Seriously.  I could lay back on a blanket and watch these guys land all day long.

Alice Before and After

Before, with a disposable camera:

And after. I’m leaving in a minute to get a G9 lesson from a friend’s professional photographer boyfriend!! Hopefully I will come back knowing how to take much better pictures with this camera.  You know, the throw-away one has nice things about it, too.  Even if the colors are from bizarro-land.

Dirt

A book about cleaning?? Could it be true?? As I’ve posted, my twice yearly ritual of cleaning my apartment within an inch of its life is one of my most satisfying, mood-lifting rituals. I love make-over, clean-house shows because it gives me the same pleasure vicariously.

I’m kicking myself for not thinking of doing this book first!

But Mindy Lewis, a great writer, has beat me to the punch and edited a collection of essays which “offers a multidimensional look at the universal challenge of keeping our stuff, our dwellings, and our personal space clean and uncluttered. How we feel about keeping house speaks volumes about our roots, relationships, and our outlook on life.”  Oh yeah.

An interview with Mindy is here.

Congratulations, Mindy!!

My Camera Comes Back Today!

Oh G9.  I’ve missed you so.  I’m afraid I’m going to miss the delivery though. I’m going to be in and out a bit today.  Well, nothing I can do but hope for the best.

Other nice things that sometimes come through the door …

My Camera is on it’s way back home to me!!

“We are pleased to confirm that the service you requested on your POWER SHOT G9 has been completed and your equipment has been shipped to you on 07-APR-09.”

Woohoo!!

I didn’t upgrade and had them repair my camera instead.  It’s not cheap, but what choice did I have?  I’ve been miserable without my camera.  I always felt like I was missing the shot of my dreams.

Hurry camera, hurry!
