Robert Indiana Bag

I love the original painting, or was it a print? There’s a small reproduction of it hanging on my wall to the right of my desk right now, as I type! These bags are too expensive for me, and I don’t use handbags anyway, but still. I’d kinda love to have the tote bag in the middle on the left. Then a pen would break inside it, ruin it, and I’d be heart-broken.

In the 1970s, when I was a stupid teenage smoker, I carried a lighter with his LOVE image on it. I have fond memories of that lighter. People are weird.

UPDATE: Someone, I know not who, sent me a set of vintage stamps with Robert Indiana’s LOVE image on them!! Thank you whoever did that!! That was so sweet of you. They came from this wonderful place, PostageStamps4U, that sells vintage stamps.

Christmas Decorations

I hope to be able to put up Christmas decorations today, just waiting for something to arrive in the mail first. Then, next week, I’ll do my yearly stroll to check out the Christmas decorations around the city. Every year there is less and less, alas.

This massive whatever-it-is is already up on the front of Saks.

Bodhi!

I almost never get a decent shot of Bodhi. Black cats are hard to photograph to begin with, and he never sits still. Now I have to get current shots of Bali and Bleecker which come out as well. This picture only gives a hint of the number of cat toys strewn about. Most of the clutter in my house is cat-related and I’ve had to make my peace with that (I hate clutter).

Okay, I haven’t really made my peace with it. I’ve only accepted that it must be like that. Cats must have their toys. Their ratty toys. And the scratching post that of course looks ratty, that’s its freaking job, to be torn up and ratty. And the tiny pieces of litter that must be swept up or vacuumed constantly. Sob.
