Fashion’s Night Out

There were parties all over the city last night to celebrate fashion week. The area where I’ve been living for the past 30 years has become fashionable, so it was wall to wall parties all around me.

There’s an actress in the middle of this one, Mena Suvari, and perhaps others, but she is the only one I recognize. This was on Perry Street and it was the party for Teen Vogue. I got there too late for give-aways, if there were any. Damnit.

This was on Bleecker by Perry. By the way, Michael Kors is putting up a store to replace … the one that was there. I forget the name, never went in there!

They put this big mirror up above Cynthia Rowley’s store. It was quite beautiful really. I noticed that you can see me taking the shot in it, I’m right below the flash. I’m sorry I was too tired to walk around and explore more. I enjoyed the festive feel of it, even though I felt pretty bland in comparison.

Fashion Week

There’s a fashion week event on Perry Street tonight, on the block next to mine, the Sex and the City block. I got some free lipsticks out of the fashion week even they held there last year. I’ll see what I can score this year, except I’ll be downtown for a Census dinner, and I may miss the give aways!

A couple of men walking toward me as I was walking uptown. I love that I live in a dress-up town.

White Collar

While on my way up to the Met they were shooting a scene for the show White Collar. I didn’t get an action shot, and unless I told you this was a movie set you wouldn’t be able to tell! These are not real FBI people.

The thing is, I watched the season finale last night and I found it horribly disturbing. The gentle talking to the dying Mozzie, the way he was rifling through his pockets. It just freaked me out. I realize I’m saying dying and they could make Mozzie survive, but it looks like he was shot in the heart, and realistically I don’t think he would survive that. But who knows. I love that character. Ugh. I watch this show for fun, not to be horribly disturbed. (My favorite character is Peter, though.)

A Sneaker Outline

From left to right: work-out sneakers, good sneakers, and my brand new, never been worn sneakers. The red came out gaudy in this shot, but it’s actually the perfect shade. Not too bright and not too subtle.

Stacy and Clinton would be appalled, but I have bad feet. No really. I stumble a lot, in flats, so I can’t wear heels. I try to make up for it with colorful sneakers. And I have a pair of black sneakers for dress up occasions. (Seriously.)

I’m walking up to the Met today so I should get lots of fun shots!

Ugh. It’s like they know!

I’ve decided to stop feeding the birds to save money and it’s like they know. They swoop down the minute I walk out onto the roof and get right up to me as I put the seed down. “We love you! We trust you! Don’t go away! Because we know you’re thinking about it.”

I wasn’t sure if this shot conveyed how close they got so I tried shooting straight down.

The camera freaked them out a bit so they didn’t get as close as usual, but you get the idea. By the way, those are my “work-out” sneakers. Those are not my “good” sneakers. Which I totally have.

Anyway, I’m feeling guilty. Stupid manipulative pigeons. Okay, you win pigeons. ( Jerks.)
