It’s the Weekend

I have a 10% coupon for Old Navy and I’m going to use it! I need some light summer pants. I noticed I have none. What happened to the ones I used to own? Must have gotten rid of them during my last Spring cleaning. They must not have fit well anymore. But why didn’t I get replacements then? Okay, this is boring.

Even more boring, I was going to save myself some money and not get the windows cleaned this Spring, but the owners of the building next door hired guys to clean the exterior of their building which made all our windows completely filthy. Grrrr.  The thing is, whenever I pay to get my windows cleaned I also have to pay these different guys to remove the air conditioner and put back in order to clean that window. It ends up costing $$$$.

But there’s nothing like clean windows, so I fork it over.

So, yeah.  Choir practice this morning.  We might as well just do the et vitam venturi fugue over and over and over.

I haven’t done “A Dress I Can’t Possess” in a while. Here’s a cute one which is, as usual too short for me.  I won’t wear anything above the knee anymore. But it’s cute otherwise.  I’d like it as a top as well.

I Am An Idiot

I almost didn’t go to this party.  It was a celebration of the millionth visitor to the Tribute WTC Visitor Center and it was held at WTC 7, the first rebuilt building.  As it was I was late and missed speeches by Bloomberg, Giuliani and others.  I also almost didn’t go upstairs.  I’m afraid of heights and it was on the 49th floor. When I’m in elevators all I think about is: if the elevator should fall, can I survive?  When it’s 49 floors down the answer would a big NO.  But it was just me and Sal Cassano, the chief of the entire FDNY in the elevator, and he made me feel safe.

On the 49th floor the elevator doors opened up to this view.  My jaw dropped and the chief said, “Aren’t you glad you came up?” YES.  Thank you for convincing me to get on that elevator, Chief.  I doubt my pictures can convey the spectacularness of this view, but I kept trying. Imagine being the people who get to work here.  Just walking around and looking out onto this all the time.

Distracted

A simple thing like a new computer causes such an uproar in my life.  I guess that’s not so strange considering the fact that I basically live online.  But I’ve been caught up in installing and learning the ins and outs of my new MacBook.

I did leave the house for choir practice though.  This is not Grace Church.  Grace Church must have been tied up.  This is inside Judson Memorial.  They used to be a client of Echo’s!  We heard the soloists for our upcoming performance and they were marvelous.  I can also report that the et vitam venturi fugue is still kicking our asses.  But we’re getting there.  And I love the Missa Solemnis.

I’m on my new computer!!

I’m freaking out!  (Change freaks me out.  I freak out easy.  When things change.  Like now.) One thing I immediately don’t like is the edge along the MacBook is sharp and hurts my wrist when I type.  I need a pad or something.  Any suggestions?

My New Computer Arrives Today!!

I am beyond belief excited.  Cannot freaking wait.  I have a doctor’s appointment at 11:15 and I’m terrified it’s going arrive while I’m out.  I scheduled that because the computer was supposed to arrive tomorrow.  Oh well.  Maybe I’ll luck out.  Maybe NOT.

Statues on a building on 40th Street, behind the library.  They’re copying my hairdo.
