Among all the wonderful gifts I got (and I’m not saying I have favorites, this is just the most photographable) is a reproduction of an Edouard Marcel Sandoz sculpture given to me by Huntington branch of the Horn family.
Isn’t this the sweetest rabbit? I’m including a shot with Finney so you can get a sense of scale. Oh! I just found a picture of Sandoz with a bunch of fennec foxes sculptures! Too cute! (Scroll down …) All his work is irresistible.
What a great scroll-down! I loved the rabbit and then I saw how tiny it was and loved it more! I have an adorable field mouse by Aynsley that my Mum got me years ago (because I love small rodents, well, all rodents – have you heard about the two capybaras on the loose in Toronto!? http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/high-park-capybaras-1.3600928 )
Now I’m worried about the capybaras! I see they are still on the loose. But maybe they are actually having a better life?
They are probably having a great time, in the summer. But when winter in Canada hits, they could die. So they do need to get them back. But they could have the entire summer “off”! Remember the days of having the summer off? I’m spending this summer rethinking how to apply for a funded PhD spot, somewhere in the world. My applications didn’t pan out for this fall, so I have to do it over again. But I have a plan.
I’m sorry! All those places you applied to are OUT OF THEIR MINDS. But I’m glad you have a plan. Also, all my friends trying to get work in academia are not finding success. Hard times.
