Some clips from today’s Women’s March on NYC
I also uploaded a few photographs in the post below.
A blog about New York City, my books, and my cats. Mostly.
I’m making a movie, but here are some quick shots as well. Please note the picture of Carrie Fisher in the sign about resistance. Rest in peace, Carrie, and thanks for the inspiration.
Putin’s puppet! So perfect. As is the next one.
Oh my!
Please note the play on the Don’t Tread on Me sign in the back.
Yes, lots of references to pee, which may not be fair. Has that story ever been verified?
Every time a republican says something about being the party of Lincoln I want to sit them down and give them a history lesson. They are not the party of Lincoln. It was a liberal party in Lincoln’s time. Lincoln would be appalled at the depth to which his party has fallen.
Thank you for your service, and for joining the march.
People were still arriving as I was heading home. It was a great day. I had two unpleasant moments, one I mention in the film I’m making. Another was when one of the march volunteers said she was going to get the police to move me when I didn’t move along right away as she asked. That was a bit of a buzzkill. Except, she didn’t have an easy job and I should have just moved.
Movie coming up!
We are an embarrassment to the world, to history, and to decency. As far as I’m concerned, Obama is still the president and I will follow him until we get rid of the clown. From Obama: “I won’t stop; I’ll be right there with you as a citizen, inspired by your voices of truth and justice, good humor, and love.”
I’ve been putting off buying a new battery for my camera because they are so expensive ($50), but the two batteries I have now are now down to holding their charge for about 1/2 hour before dying. Just before a great photo opportunity. There was no way I was going to march without being able to document it.
I’m just so excited for Saturday. As I tweeted, I need that undeniable reminder that not only am I not alone, I’m in the majority. Most of America is appalled at this utter clown who is about to become the president. I still can’t believe it. Seriously. I also must admit I’ve been paralyzed since the election and I’m counting on the march to give me the energy for the fight ahead.
Anytime I can get a cat in the shot I will. Finney with my new battery.
I used to read so much more, but now I read for research, and then about a half a dozen books a year on top of that for fun or general enlightenment. This recent article about Obama’s readings habits shocked me. How does he do it?? I used to read about 30 + books a year, but I wasn’t the President and I didn’t have a family.
But I love reading, and I think I’m happier when I’m reading more. So, starting today, more reading. Today I will try to finish a book I recently started, A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson.
