by I had two days off (three actually, I called in sick on Monday) and I feel like I got a decent amount of work done. Still, not enough. But I figured out the structure for the next chapter and that is big. For me, anyway. Now that I know what I’m going to say it’s fun to figure out how. Figuring out outline: not fun. Filling in the blanks: fun.
I saw this dress hanging outside a building yesterday. A college roommate of mine when I was at the Museum School had a dress very much like this. She did a painting of it, I believe, but she also put the actual dress up on the wall as decoration. It was an usual thing to do at the time and I loved how it looked up there. I also took a picture of her in it which made me very happy because it came out okay and I was used to thinking of myself as not being good at portraits. I should dig it out. Her name was Linda Dennis.
Anyway, I saw this and I thought, Linda Dennis would do this. She would display a dress on a fire escape like this.
