Love is Fading

I thought I posted a picture of this years ago, but I can’t find it. Someone wrote the word “love” on each of these exposed bricks. It’s been there for many years, I’m not sure how many, but in my memory it’s at least a decade. I’ve been passing it by almost every day and I’ve grown quite attached to it. I just searched my soul for why but all I came up with it is, I like that someone exuberantly wrote that one day. Maybe they were just falling in love, maybe they were young and couldn’t wait to.

It used to be very clear, but now most of the loves are barely legible. I wish I had an earlier picture. And I wish whoever did this would come back and restore it. Don’t let love fade away completely.

Triangle Shirtwaist Fire 2019

Every year on the anniversary of the Triangle Shirtwaist Fire someone lays a rose for every victim in front of the building where the fire occurred. Learning about this fire was what first ignited my passion for research. I didn’t hear about it until I was in high school, but I had to know exactly what happened, and who died. It was a lot harder to track down information in the 1970s, let me tell you, and you really had to want to know.

I Love a Renovation

As I’ve posted before, I watch many of the home renovation shows, I’m addicted to them. So it’s fun getting a peak at renovations in my own city, as I go about my life. I’ve been passing this one by on my way to work in the morning.

I love a curved stair case! I hope they keep it. Oh why oh why didn’t I pursue money with the same vigor I pursued my research/story telling obsessions?? If I could only have one I chose the right path, but maybe I could have had both!
