Pigeons

I’m on a roll with pigeons.  I was uploading this picture when I noticed this guy in the corner. (Please scroll down.)

Hey little guy!  Ohmygod, I want to do a pigeon series!!  Perhaps to compensate for the Cricket Coleman pigeon painting I cannot possess, but I’m getting into the idea.

Today I’m lugging both cats to the vet, with Howard’s help. Please please please have gained weight Buddy.  He still hadn’t gained any last time. But I think he has gained a very small amount this month.  Finney has this persistent itchy butt thing. I’ll spare everyone the details.

I wasn’t feeling well yesterday so I took the day off, but now I am way behind in everything, email, etc.

Oh, but perhaps a good new movie has opened today.

Cricket Coleman’s Pigeon Painting

I was just talking on Echo about how I covet this painting by my friend Cricket Coleman, but her mother got it first.  I still haven’t recovered from that disappointment.  Here it is.  This should be mine.

Movie Set

This is earlier shot of Bryant Park, taken a few hours before the one in the post below.

My plan for the day was to lay on the couch and do nothing, but so far I’ve sat at my desk doing nothing.  It’s a total waste of a do-nothing day.

Yesterday was a kinda perfect day.

I met someone for a drink who I hadn’t seen in, like 15 years, and it was lovely.  And also entertaining. We met in a bar in a hotel and it was like we had traveled back in time to when people thought dressing up the cocktail waitresses in some sort of darker Playboy bunny-type costume was a good idea.  It was just so archaic, and silly.  I was embarrassed for all involved.

Then I was on a panel at the New York Public Library, which was fun, and then I had dinner with my agent.  It was delicious, we caught up, talked about life, publishing, writing.  Just an all around home run of a day.

Bryant Park was lit up for a movie they were shooting, and I kept trying to capture the eerie look to the trees, but I don’t think I managed.  Here is my attempt though.  Actually, this kinda does convey it.

Dough Everywhere, Taunting Us

I met a friend for lunch at the Chelsea Market yesterday and there was dough EVERYWHERE. Seriously, that place is full of bakeries, and a couple of them give you a window into the baking process.  The truth is, I don’t have a serious sweet tooth, although I do enjoy desserts, like anyone.  But I’m just as happy with an orange.

So, what’s up for today?  Oh, I’m doing this thing at the New York Public Library tonight.  Should be fun. Plus, I meeting with my agent to discuss my next book!
