Mouse!

There’s a new talking cat video from klaatu42, and I wanted to post a link to one of them just in case there was anyone who wasn’t aware of them. Here’s a favorite. But once you see that one, browse his others. There are so many great ones, although I can’t watch the one of the beaver on the highway.

I took this picture of an art installation everyone was talking about a while back. It’s called Event Horizon and it’s by an artist named Antony Gormley. Someone had recently jumped off a building, I think nearby, so people freaked at first. I love it. Apparently there are 31 of them around the Flatiron District. I took this picture from Madison Square Park.

NYC is Awesome

What can I say? It just is. (It doesn’t mean all other cities aren’t awesome, too.) The pictures that I took at the Loser’s Lounge didn’t come out, but my picture of the cop on a horse did. This is on West 4th Street, just before Washington Square Park. I was just thinking, lovely city, fun city (because of things like the Loser’s Lounge).

Oh God, I have to run to work. Argh. So much work to do except I have to go to work. I also seriously need to post about how awesome So You Think You Can Dance is this season, with one caveat.

Next Up: Sex and the City 2

I thought Splice was terrible. TERRIBLE. Really stupid, terrible. I’m amazed at all the positive reviews. I’m sorry people who made it and were in it.

I took this heading down Broadway, in search of a paid of red/yellow Onitsuka Tiger sneakers. I was not successful. I love this dusky light at this time of day, though.

Birthday Week Take 2

Since I was sick most of last week I’m considering this my birthday week take 2. I’m going to see two movies (Sex and the City 2 and Splice) read a book I don’t have to read, and I’m also going to buy myself a new summer outfit thanks to my late mother. Around 15 years ago I gave her a gift certificate for two tickets to a Broadway show which she apparently never used (typical!).

I recently got mail asking me if I was ever going to use the gift certificate or did I want a refund? It took me a while to remember what they were talking about. I’m so happy Broadway shows are so expensive and I had more money at the time!! It’s weird, but every once in a while something like this happens. I get a little bit of money by way of my mother. It’s like she keeps giving me presents from the afterlife. Thank you, mom!

Another view from my publisher’s office. This is of the Carmine Street pool, which is a little bit evil. (I tell the story here.) They haven’t filled the pool with water yet. I thought they always did that by memorial day.

Everyone Loves Baseball

There’s a small ballpark near me on Hudson Street. People always stop to watch the little leaguers. I remember I used to go and sit in this park at night, whenever I was sad. It made me feel better. But at some point they started locking up the park in the evening and I couldn’t do that any longer. Bastards!
