Hi Stacy–I’ve followed your blog for many years, one of only a handful that I read on a regular basis. I have also read several of your books (got the Waiting for My Cats book autographed by you at Oscar Wilde bookstore), enjoyed one of your concerts (The Sea at St. Thomas), and particularly love your explorations of New York City history. Now I discovered another common interest: Key and Peele. Jordan Peele is my son! OH. MY. GOD! No!! You can’t be serious! I am screaming as I type this!! They are freaking brilliant!! You must be dying of pride. They are both so extraordinary. We’re talking about them on Echo too, because again, I only just started watching so I’ve been asking people what I’ve missed. I haven’t come across a single person who has seen them and doesn’t love them. I can’t believe you are Jordan Peele’s mother!! Now I’m going to make sure I find and watch every back episode!!

Hi Stacy–Thanks so much! We met at Oscar Wilde bookstore only in the sense that I got my book signed by you. (I had the book already but bought a second just to get it signed!) And, yes, I’m Jordan’s mom. He grew up in our one bedroom fifth floor walk-up on the UWS. (Forgot to mention another favorite K&P skit: Meegan and her Jacket.) You are an inspiration to me with all that you do and have done & continue to do. I’m so moved by the interesting life you lead and the joy you find everywhere.
So so cool. And thank you. I have to share my favorites (which are recent, since I discovered the show recently). The funny thing is, Jordan is SO good he can be hard to watch at times! Key even refers to this kind of thing in another of my favorite skits, when he say, “It’s like watching the British version of The Office. It’s funny, but awkward and sad at the same time.” Like this one, it’s so real it’s painful!
