by Planning my day and realizing that perhaps I should have made plans a little sooner than the morning of my birthday, in which I turn WAY OLD (59). Jesus. One year away from SIXTY. Except I thought fifty was going to be unbearable and it turned out to be fine. The 50’s turned out to be just fine overall so maybe my 60’s won’t be so awful either. It freaks me out just to type it though. SIXTY!!! That is absolutely, unequivocally OLD.
I’m proud to live in a city where people line up around the block just to see a painting. (It was a Gustav Klimt portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer.)

Speaking of that Gustav Klimt portrait, I’m currently reading “The Lady in Gold,” the story behind the film “Woman in Gold,” which I saw at the Paris theater last week. Fascinating stuff. Next week Vera Brittain’s memoir, “Testament of Youth” will be playing there. Thought you’d like to know since you’re still in your youthful 50s.

Happy Belated Birthday. I’m 63, and here to tell you there’s still “life” after 60! 🙂 I’ve been a widow 9 years, but recently started seeing a very nice gentleman. Don’t know where we’re headed, but so far, just enjoying the “present.”
