See that small patch of evergreen trees in the distance? That’s my favorite spot to sit in Washington Square Park. Weirdly, I don’t have to fight for it. It’s not at all popular and there is always an entire bench free. I like to sit a little bit away from them so I look out at them.

It’s probably not as popular due to the shade. I went to Google satellite view and this must be the east end of the park. I see there is a “large dog play area” on the south side, west of the central circle. I would hang out there, I think! 🙂
I know, why am I not sitting by the dogs?? But I am drawn to this spot, it makes me feel alive. (It’s on the northwest corner of the park, actually.)
