Bleecker and Bodhi

Of the two kittens, Bodhi likes Bleecker best. He’ll often curl up with him to sleep, and initiate play. Here is Bodhi, nestled under Finney’s chin. This makes me more happy than I can say. For so long Bleecker only had Finney, who had zero interest in him. It was awful for everyone. Bali likes Bleecker too by the way, but Bodhi loves him. (Bodhi loves everyone though. SLUT.)

Bodhi and Bali Today

I was asked about pictures of Bodhi and Bali. The problem is, I still haven’t bought a new camera and the pictures on my iphone are not great. But I took this a couple of hours ago. It’s doubly hard trying to take a decent picture of black cats. I know this from years of shooting Finney. Check it out though. It’s very hard to tell them apart.

People on a line for … something.

I didn’t even ask what they were online for! So unlike me. I usually ask. Waiting on a line is excruciating for me, and I want to know what people think is worth doing that for, not that I have never waited on a line. I’ve waited on lines for movies, back in the day.

John McCain

I just don’t know what to make of John McCain. I once liked and admired him (although I certainly didn’t agree with all his positions). Then he ran for president, and became this unrecognizable bitter, angry man, who was willing to sacrifice his principals in order to get elected. Which didn’t get him elected, and must have further embittered him.

Since then, every once in a while I see flashes of the man I once admired. I’m very sorry for his recent diagnosis.

From a model shoot I passed by on my way home from an opening at the Carter Burden Gallery. I really really need to buy a camera to replace mine (I dropped it and it is irreparably broken).

Bodhi and Bali are Home

They only sit still for seconds at a time, and for the rest they are ping-ping-ping ricochet rabbiting all around the apartment, knocking over the fan, their water bowl, and the litterbox. It’s impossible to get a decent shot, especially with a phone camera. Or with this phone camera, I should say. They also take turns panting, which in this case is probably just from excitement. They were in a cage half the size of the one from the Nursery, and of course they were used to having the run of my apartment. They must be besides themselves being able to race around at will like they are now.

Their relationship with Bleecker seems fine, no regression. But I took Bleecker to get his nails trimmed just now. The kittens had their nails trimmed and I wanted to level the playing field.

I think it’s a given that I will not be getting any sleep tonight.

Update: Added another shot below.

This shot makes me happy because they are settling into favorite spots they’d selected before. Bali always loved to sit in that bowl on the shelf.
