My plan for the day: write write write, then venture out and explore Bleecker Street for Fashion’s Night Out. Hopefully I will be back with lots of pictures of very well-dressed people.

And what the hell is wrong with my camera?? This batch all uploaded like this. Anyway, Finney had stopped sitting on my lap, but the last few days he’s been back. I wonder if it was a “it’s summer, it’s too hot” thing. Oh wait, it’s the blanket. It’s been cold in the mornings so I’ve had a blanket over me. It’s not me he loves, it’s the blanket.

Oh Finney. You heart-breaker, you.

It’s weird living in a tourist/shopping destination. Especially on a nice day. But it’s fun on Fashion’s Night out, which is Thursday this year. Store after store has some sort of event going on, it’s loud, and it’s not something I can really participate in, but it’s an entertaining spectacle and sometimes I get a free lipstick or something out of it.

I always forget it’s going to happen, but this year I’m ready and I will get lots of pictures. The Sex and the City block of Perry Street is usually closed off for a block party and there are bands, sometimes fashion stars, always good picture-taking.

She would have been neater, I think. But this greeted me when I got downstairs yesterday. I thought it was sweet, whoever painted it. I think I liked it so much because I had a boyfriend who once spray painted something for me on the street just a few feet away from this, and wrote “For Stacy.” He was a sweet guy. (We are still friends.)

I’m re-visiting my favorite photograph of Finney. He’d recently had an operation for a urinary tract issue (that’s why his stomach is shaved), but I was also under instructions to get his weight down. This was the aftermath of trying to get him to play.
