A Moment of Glory

I got to the NPR studio early yesterday, so I relaxed for a few minutes in the park behind the main branch of the New York Public Library.  It was just so ridiculously pleasant I think I smiled the whole time, thereby signaling “crazy person” to all around me.  Crazy person with a camera no less.  But I was happy to be going to NPR to record a commentary, it was a nice day, all was well with the world for a few minutes.  I mean, will you look at that tiny field of daffodils!!

My Amazing Day in Harlem

I went uptown yesterday to make a little YouTube movie about the ghost story at the Morris-Jumel Mansion.  I had so many problems, I may decide to re-do it, but man what a day I had. I’ll be posting pictures, and hopefully another small movie later today.

This is the lobby for the building where I went to hear “Parlor Entertainment.”  That’s what I hope to make a movie about this afternoon.  Oops!  Gotta go!  Radio interview!

Gray Blob are You Still There??

Looks like no, thank God.  I needed to take a picture of something dark in order to show the gray circle more easily and Finney was the most convenient dark thing!  I’m heading to Harlem in a little while to make a video about a ghost story there.  Should be fun!!

Can’t Get On ‘Em, Love to Watch ‘Em

Thank you Jimmy and Cori for pulling over so I could take pictures of airplanes landing.  And for being patient and waiting while I kept trying over and over because I kept doing one thing or another wrong.  So you can imagine how annoyed I am with myself for not seeing that gray circle in the middle of all my shots and the movies, which I’m hoping was a rain drop.  Please say it’s a rain drop and not something else wrong with my camera.

Here is the movie followed by one still.  I took a bunch but none of them look good because of the rain drop.

Seriously.  I could lay back on a blanket and watch these guys land all day long.

Alice Before and After

Before, with a disposable camera:

And after. I’m leaving in a minute to get a G9 lesson from a friend’s professional photographer boyfriend!! Hopefully I will come back knowing how to take much better pictures with this camera.  You know, the throw-away one has nice things about it, too.  Even if the colors are from bizarro-land.
