No Trespassing, No commenting Still

It looks like the people who live in the building that was Carrie’s apartment in Sex and The City are finally crying, Uncle!

For years now people have visited this spot, shooting pictures of themselves and their friends sitting on the steps. Tour buses full of people used to regularly line up to take pictures, except I believe the organizers officially took this spot off their tour.  Groups of girls continue to pay homage, but their numbers are smaller.

I’m amazed that the people living here were nice about as long as they have. I know the fans mean no harm, and I’m a huge fan of the show so I feel like they’re my people, but I can certainly understand how the people living might wish it would all just end.

Me, I’m excited to hear that there’s going to be another movie.  I did hear that, right?

I’ve had another “one of those days.”   But no one died, I have my health, and so do all my friends and family at the moment, as far as I know.  I still have all sorts of lunches and parties to look forward to.  My lunch today got rescheduled for next month, which actually worked out well since I had all sort of problems arise which I had to attend to.  Funny how that worked out.  Damnit.  I forgot to take pictures from my lunch yesterday.  It was a bunch of friends from graduate school along with the chair of the program. The ITP girls.  And we all looked so good, too.  No really.

My Blog is All Sorts of Broken and I’m so Blue!

But check out the beautiful window of this new store on West 4th Street.  It’s next to one of the few deli’s left in a formerly deli-rich neighborhood.  This store is also in the spot of the former Patisserie Lanciani, another place I miss. Oh God.  Life is slowly becoming a bunch of things and people I miss. (We’re doomed!!)

This store is like a gallery of clothes.  Coincidentally, on the other side of the deli is another new business—an art gallery.  I asked one of the deli guys if he was excited about two new stores going in on either side of him and he said, “Another two stores I can’t afford to shop in.”

I had to concede the point.  That’s our neighborhood now. Places we can’t afford to shop in.

At least they’re pretty!

Oh God, Could I be a Bigger Idiot?

I think I accidentally deleted all the comments I’ve ever gotten. All that history, gone. Just gone. Oh. I just can’t bear it. I know when it happened, too. I thought I was deleting all my spam, and I obviously hit the wrong delete all.

Oh God.  Kill me now.  I am too stupid for this world.

Sigh.  I need time to recover.

Had a great lunch with the ITP girls, Red, Sharleen, Marianne and Kate. And then came home to discover the devastation of my own spazatude.  Oh well.  Live and freaking learn.  Damnit, damnit, damnit. All the Aly comments!!  Oh, it’s too much.

Think about puppies. And kittens.  And a possible Buffy movie.  The hot new doctor on Grey’s Anatomy.  My book coming out. And someone maybe making a movie out of it. The endless good food to be had in New York City.  Friends.

Ha, notice the distance between puppies and friends.  It doesn’t mean anything!  I passed by a window full of puppies on my way home so it was the first cute thing to come to mind.  Kittens naturally followed puppies, and so my list evolved.

Thank You (with a caveat)

Thank you movie Santa! Unless you are a stalker, in which case, what movies??

But if you are not, that was very sweet, thank you.  This story is one of the best redemption stories. Scrooge gets a do-over!  (Someone sent me the Mr. Magoo and Alastair Sim versions of A Christmas Carol, my favorite holiday movies.)

Except this part always bugged me.  We still have to die (damnit).  “I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year. I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future. The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me. I will not shut out the lessons that they teach. Oh, tell me I may sponge away the writing on this stone!”  [Sorry.  Not a chance, Ebenezer.]

Oh!  I love this line:  Darkness is cheap, and Scrooge liked it.
