I love the noisy starlings, for instance. And so do the cats. My love is pure of course. While the cat’s love is, well, evil.

After you observe starlings for a while, you may notice that they have a large repertoire of sounds. They even imitate other birds sometimes. And they have clicks and whistles. But mostly, I love the sound they make that is like a tiny bomb heading towards earth, without the boom at the end.
It’s amazing the variety of noise they make. One starling shows up and it sounds like at least twenty different birds have landed on the fire escape.
