New Author Photo

I’m supposed to hand in an author photo tomorrow. This used to be a lot easier when I was, oh, I don’t know, decades younger. Also, at 56, I don’t have as much patience as I used to. I planned to spend all day on this if necessary, but after an hour I’m done. Please tell me this picture is acceptable. I’m happy with it. I think I look friendly and reasonably animated and happy.

Update: Okay, a few people weighed in and this is the newest version.

Another Update: I just replaced my old picture on the upper right with this new one. I like how it looks!

  1. Actually I liked the close up better. But with either setting, I think you should get your hand out of the picture.
Also, you do have a nice smile (see picture you posted 11/1/11)

  2. Well, I can’t take my hand out now! Also, I was just more relaxed looking when I rested my head on my hand. And I like my smile, but not right now. I took a bunch with me smiling, but it looks a little off because I have temps on now while I go through this implant process.

  3. I like it. You look smart and approachable. (Just what I look for in an author.) And the pretty necklace is a nice touch.
