It’s definitely a locust, but I’d have to see the bark to get to the “honey” part.
Do you have an iPhone? I downloaded an app from the Smithsonian called LeafSnap. Take a picture of a leaf and it will tell you what kind of a tree you have.
I don’t have an iphone, but there’s probably something else like it online.
