People gathered to mourn and respond to what happened in Orlando. There was a large crowd, and they were organizing a march as I was leaving. I couldn’t see or hear the speakers so I can’t really tell you much.

I know everything has ramped up of late, but I still can’t get used to seeing police holding big assault weapons. Makes me so nervous/sad. Guns everywhere.
Yeah. At the same time though, I’m glad they are there. Still. I take pictures of them because it’s just ridiculous that this is the world we live in.
I know what you mean Citizen Reader. It seems too militaristic. Aren’t the police supposed to be ‘peace officers’, not war officers? On the other hand, I am glad they are there to protect the peaceful protestors. The police dog is a Labrador which to me means it is a ‘sniffer dog’ for bombs. (Although, ‘sniffer dog’ is an oxymoron if I ever heard one! 🙂 ) I was at an event years ago and they had to sweep for explosives and used a Labrador, who was so well trained, it totally skimmed by a plate of cookies. I had a Lab at the time and was amazed at the sniffer dog’s forbearance!
