I’m Going to be on Science Friday Today

Science Friday airs from 2 – 4, and the segment I’m going to be on starts a little after 3pm. They are interviewing Claire Evans about her new book Broad Band: The Untold Story of the Women Who Made the Internet and I’m going to be making an appearance toward the end of her segment. You can listen here.

The boys. Who will not be listening. Instead, they will knock over things, rip up my comforter even more, annoy Bleecker, spill water, puncture holes in the shower curtain, shred all the other curtains, spend an hour trying to reach the plants, eat books, spread kitty litter, and sleep.

I've written six non-fiction books, the most recent is Damnation Island: Poor, Sick, Mad, and Criminal in 19th-Century New York.

  1. YAY! Can’t wait to listen.

Hilariously, your boys and their activities sound very similar to what goes on with my little human boys when I look away. Ditto on shredding curtains, spilling water, wrecking quilts….although around here there will be less spilling of kitty litter and less sleep. 🙂

  2. Hi Stacy, I heard part of your segment today on Science Friday and I think it was you talking about ECHO. If that still exists, I would like to find out more about it. I miss the days of the old internet when things were not so structured (like within Facebook) and people could have real conversations online. Can you email me something about it and whether it’s still running?
