I made a list!! (I always credit Hart Hanson, the creator and producer of one of my favorite shows, Bones, for the phrase “I made a list!” I first saw it in his tweets.)
But my book Imperfect Harmony made the July 2013 Indie Next List!!
“Listening to choral music has always been moving for me, but I never realized the profound emotions felt by the chorus members. In this delightful, charmingly self-effacing memoir, Horn explains how singing with the Choral Society of New York’s Grace Church has been life-affirming, and even life-saving. Drawing on the reflections of other singers, composers of choral music, and scientific evidence, as well as her own experience, Horn beautifully puts into words the joy of singing in harmony with others. Any lover of choral music will love this book!” —Samantha Flynn, Quail Ridge Books & Music, Raleigh, NC
Thank you Samanta Flynn and the Indie Next List selectors!! I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the vote of confidence. Thank you.
One of the tables at the recent street fair on Perry Street. Sad or scary dolls. You decide.
Isn’t it fun the way some phrases are forever etched in our brain and always remind us of what etched them there in the first place?
There is a tv production company that has a kid’s voice that says, “I made that!” and then there is “Far Field Productions” (that makes “Bones”) that has a kid’s voice that says, “What’s that mean?” My husband was hiking the AT (he came home Friday) and he took a photo of this tree on a hill that reminded him of the visuals in the “Bones” credits. However, he thought the kid’s voice said “I made that.” I was his “editor” while he was away and posted to his blog for him, so when I put up that photo with the tree, I had to look up who produced “Bones” to be sure.
Here’s the single entry with that photo in it:

You might enjoy browsing through the blog, I don’t know. It was a great way for friends and family to keep track of him as he hiked.
I totally know both the “I made that” and “What’s that mean” audio clips!!
And that does look like the tree. Which I always thought also looks like the tree that was used in the opening credits of … that show about the funeral home, spacing the name … Six Feet Under! (Thank god for the internet.)
I will read the blog — I envy his hikes.
When I was writing the above, I also got confused with “One Tree Hill” which I never watched! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/One_Tree_Hill_(TV_series)
We just put up an AT video/slide show set to a tune we love. It’s on the blog but you can watch it at YouTube too:

Make it full screen! Fun stuff.
Amazing!!! Now I am dying to do that. I don’t know how to camp though.
