Birthday Week Day Four

I got a surprise call from a couple of detective friends and we met for breakfast, that was a great start to my birthday! Love those guys.  Plans for rest of the day: seeing the movie Up, cake with friends, seeing the new Terminator movie … I think that’s it!

Here is the movie set that blocked me from picking up my organic Half & Half yesterday.

  1. A very bountiful and Happy Birthday to you, Stacy!

Your book arrived, and I’ve just started it. It’s a terrific read, and I’m enjoying the heck out of it.

It’s detailed enough for a serious reader, and at the same time lively enough and entertaining enough for someone at the airport.

Your style keeps the reader moving right along through all of these interesting and flamboyant characters. (I was very entertained by Eileen Garrett.)

One finds oneself pulling for J.D. Rhine as if he were the central character in a novel, heroically pressing on while surrounded by detractors.

It also reminds me of why I never really tried to produce a book. It is obvious that you’ve put an enormous amount of work into it. You’ve gone back and tried to locate people for interviews who are now elderly. And simply the task of sifting through the amount of material in order to discuss the various aspects of tests, people, intriguiging situations, asides and anecdotes is enough to make a person think it would be easier to work as a heavy equipment operator.

So congratulations, Stacy. It’s a terrific book. And you’re doing wonderful work in helping to unfold the idea of survival and immortality into a world desperately in need of it. Personally, I think you ought to stay in this field a while and write a book about Lily Dale. Only one has been produced so far that I know of, and I think you would do a much more complete presentation.

  2. Well, THAT certainly made my birthday day!! WOW!!!! Thank you, Greg!! Thank you for the timing! It’s nice to know as one counts off another birthday that you’ve accomplished something.
