Check it out!! What is that? I googled and I’m guessing house finch. Does anyone know? (Karen?) I also had a couple of blue jays, but they’ve been here before and they fly off the second I reach for my camera.

You have. . .ta da! . . a male house finch.
From Wikipedia: Originally only a resident of Mexico and the southwestern United States, they were introduced to eastern North America in the 1940s. The birds were sold illegally in New York City as “Hollywood Finches”, a marketing artifice. To avoid prosecution under theMigratory Bird Treaty Act of 1918, vendors and owners released the birds. They have become naturalized; in some unforested areas, they have displaced the native Purple Finch and nonnative House Sparrow.
Thank you! They are noisy in a way I like, (and that drives the cats crazy) and now I have a bunch of them!
Woohoo! Birds all over the place!
