A blog about New York City, my books, and my cats. Mostly.
I've written six non-fiction books, the most recent is Damnation Island: Poor, Sick, Mad, and Criminal in 19th-Century New York.
Geez, Stacy, what have I gotten you into? Next thing I’ll hear is that you’ve started raising pigeons and racing them with Michael Tyson.
Yep, eatin’ good in the neighborhood. It has never failed to amaze me how providing nourishment/feed to almost ANY creature will eventually remove the ‘fear’ factor of being close to humans. The flock of pigeons look like the gang of stray cats I’m feeding now, and an orange tabby has ‘adopted’ me, become my shadow when I’m outside! Used to put out food scrapes for raccoons at the farm, and had a mom bring her baby coons to the feeder one time. Fascinating.
GREAT video, Stacy.
Great film – maybe the top pigeon feeding video on the web! What chow-hounds there at the end.
Please be careful walking backwards while filming on the roof! I knew you survived because you lived to post this – but Stacy, please be careful up there!
Hahaha. Karen, I saw that picture of Mike Tyson kissing a pigeon! I hear Peta is up in arms about the racing though.
Cara, baby racoons!!!!
