Finney is going to the vet for his follow-up sonogram this morning. I’ve been nervous about this swelling around the incision. Apparently it’s normal (as long as it’s not oozing) but I’ll feel better when they take a closer look. He seems fine except he’s drinking and peeing massive amounts. It’s raining though, is the thing. I am not looking forward to lugging this great big cat in the rain.
I need reading glasses, by the way. I’ve tried two places so far and no go. The glasses at one drugstore (a very nice fancy drugstore near me called Bigelow’s) were $75!! I’m going to try Loehmans and Little Rickys next.

try ZenniOptical.com – you have to either measure the pupilary distance or get it from a former optician (and they *have* to give it to you if you ask), but that’s about the only oddity about buying glasses online. Highly recommended!
Up here in Canuck-land (aka Canada), we have them in dollar stores too!! Depends how fancy you want to get… I think my mom actually has a bazillion pairs, by the phone, by the computer, by the bed… in the living room… you name it, she’s got some!
I think you can get them in funky shapes too!
But then… this is Canada… 🙂

We have several Dollar stores in the South — General Dollar, Family Dollar, etc and the reading glasses are about 2 bucks. Any discount store should have reading glasses for less than 10 bucks, just as good as the pricey ones, even lots of variety in frames. I like the frames as well as my regular prescription glasses frames.
Good luck with Finney, hope he is okay. We need rain desperately here, very dry now…losing some of my veggie garden even with occasionally hose watering.
