Staycation Almost Over

I’m on hold with Unemployment. Ugh. Ugh to the infinity power. Okay, it was a few minutes wait, not too bad. I have to re-file October 4th. I never should have filed now in the first place. Why didn’t they tell me that at the time?? They’re not allowed, was the answer.

Actually, I get that. They’re not allowed to tell people not to bother, because what if you get someone who is … not good at their job?

Tomorrow is the last day of my staycation. I didn’t really pull it off. Maybe on two days I did. The day I went to the met, and yesterday when I read all day long mostly. Today I’m going to the dentist. What was I thinking??? Except, I do love that feel of taking care of things that need to be attended to, like teeth cleaning.

No, I’m an idiot.

A doorman in front of the Trump building on 5th Avenue. Cute kid. I wonder if he really wants to be an actor.

  1. Makes you wonder how many people set out to be a doorman. Is it an entirely accidental occupation? Is there someone out there right now thinking, “Two more years and I’ll be ready to land that Trump gig.”

  2. To those of us for whom a staycation in NEW YORK CITY would be a dream come true, it sounds pretty exotic. Not the dentist part, though…

  3. Visiting the dentist isn’t a staycation, it’s a staynoyance. But at least you have some ideas for containers if you should end up losing a tooth!

  4. Ha! I was thinking I should try to find a dentist outside NYC. I can’t believe how much it costs, even with insurance.
