The Shooting is Sad on So Many Levels

This article about Jared Lee Loughner makes him sound clearly mentally ill and possibly schizophrenic. In addition to the judge and the third grader he also shot and killed three women in their 70’s, for the love of God.

I wonder what the story is for the other man they’re looking for. In case you haven’t read, they’re looking for a possible accomplice, a man in his 50’s. Was he someone taking advantage of a mentally ill young man, or someone equally disturbed?

On a happier note, Finney is very pleased to be more prominently featured in the new banner.

The New Look!

What do you think? My friend Jackie Broner gave my blog a new look today! I’m making this blog my main website, so www.stacyhorn.com is going to point to here from now on (when I’m done).

I’ve been working for hours adding new pages and tinkering. I can’t get over how long things take even though editing and uploading pictures has been greatly simplified compared to the old days.

Thank you Jackie!! I think it looks great. Nice and bright. I’ve got a little more space here, so I can have slightly bigger pictures. I could have gone a teeny bit wider with this one.

Why I Don’t Have A Car

Because of snow. It happened in Boston, in the 70’s. There was a blizzard, and not like the namby-pamby blizzards we get now. This was a blizzard where you couldn’t see your hands held out in front of you or your feet when you looked down. Never mind snow piled up against the cars parked along the street, you couldn’t even see the cars that you knew were there.

My car was parked at the end of a long driveway, and I spent about three days trying to dig it out and I never got close. I finally gave up and just left it there until the snow thawed (a month or two later?). When it did I gave my car to my brother and have never owned a car since.

I’ve never felt so liberated. I know some people feel more free with cars—”I can pick up and go at anytime!” But I just felt encumbered. Having a car took too much care and attention, and I can pick up and go at anytime without one.

My World is Back to Normal

I’m back on my regular computer!! An otherwise very gray day is bright indeed. Now I can get back to work. Sigh. I took the picture below on the way to the Apple store. Happy day.

Meanwhile, no one from A&E or the show Hoarders got back to me about the animals that were supposedly rescued during filming. I should try emailing as well.
