They knocked a water bottle off the coffee table and played with it for about ten minutes before moving on to the next thing to destroy. Kittens are cute not so we’ll love them, but so that we won’t kill them.

And they ARE cute. Just look at those sleek black coats!
Gosh, I agree, their coats are so shiny and healthy. My male kitty loves those little cloth “mice” that they sell in pet stores. They are lightweight and easy to bat around. I have about 5 of them lying on the carpet now.
Anyway, you saved some beautiful kittens! If you clip their claws just a little, that might help keep them from doing too much damage. I hope you have a scratching post too! Amazon has a good one for around $50. Then also throw empty cardboard boxes on the floor and let them enjoy playing hide and seek.
FYI here is link to scratching post that will last a long time. It’s gone down in price too!

Oooh. I have that scratching post that Rebecca linked to. It is the best if it pricey. My four use it religiously.
I have one very similar and ever pricier:

I do clip their nails, but it’s kind of an ordeal. I’m touching their feet a lot in-between to try to make it less of an ordeal. But I think they’re responding to my fear of doing it.
