This ironwork was for a building that was once a bank. Why doesn’t anyone make this kind of effort to ornament buildings anymore? This first shot is so you can see it all in context (ignore the scaffolding in front).

This is what makes old buildings so beautiful. I guess even though the whole world is awash in money and billionaires, nobody can afford to build buildings we these touches anymore? Our Wisconsin state capitol building has a lot of beautiful ornamentation like this–kills me that only jerk politicians and lobbyists get to work inside it most days.
Ha! Yeah. I also love the court buildings here.
