It must have been a lot. I mean, I felt busy. But what did I actually do??
– Worked on my book proposal.
– Read some articles looking for material for my book proposal.
– Went to the Strand and bought two books by Robert Nathan, who I plan to loudly and vocally take credit for re-discovering shortly. So anyone else who plans to claim this, I re-discovered him first!
– Updated my blogs for Unbelievable and The Restless Sleep, and found a bunch of material for future posts for The Restless Sleep blog (I’ve not been giving that one much attention).
That’s not very much, is it? Oh well. This is a picture from a memorial on the lower east side. Someone must have died there. Sad.
Hi, Stacy! May I ask what Robert Nathan titles you purchased? I have seen the movies “The Bishops Wife” and “Portrait of Jennie”. Is this the Robert Nathan you are referring to? Love to Buddy and Finney, the best looking cats in the whole world (next to my cat, Pumpkin, of course!).
Yes, it’s the same Robert Nathan. It’s because of the movie Portrait of Jennie that I am giving him a try. I bought “But Gently Day” and “The Elixir.” Only because those were the ones at the Strand when I was there, but they look like good places to start to explore him.
And thank you for the compliment about Buddy and Finney!
I was watching The Bishop’s Wife last year and noticed for the first time that it was based on a novel by Robert Nathan, whom I already knew had written Portrait of Jennie. So I found a 5 books in one volume of some of his novels. The novel Bishop’s Wife is a lot different in tone and plot than the movie.
I also wishlisted some other stuff by him on Amazon for later. He had a 40 year writing career, and is almost unknown today. Except for Stacy and for me. ;o)
Hahaha. But different not as good different, or just different?
