I took in the annual Easter Parade on Fifth Avenue. At the end I’ll post a picture of a guy I’ve seen a few years in a row. First up, my favorite Easter bonnet, the Empire State Building with King Kong, and a very handsome young man.

The young man in this picture however, is not having as good a time as these beautiful girls (now I want four daughters).

Scary Easter outfit! But she had a nice, friendly demeanor.

My second favorite Easter bonnet. She was with a bunch of people whose hats were based on New York landmarks. Hers was the best. Can’t compete with dinosaurs. She was also giving out tiny plastic dinosaurs to the children there, so that was nice.

Happy girls. I have so many shots, so many happy faces.

And some happy boys!

These children know how to work it. I love kids who aren’t shy about getting their picture taken.

This costume is also slightly scary. I don’t understand it I must admit, but it’s intriguing. What does that writing say? Bella dharma?

Some very fashionable ladies, who look like they have work in the permanent collections of museums around the world.

I looked for and was happy to spot this guy and his dog. He always had two with him before and I was afraid to ask why there was only one! But thank God, the other guy is perfectly fine. He just doesn’t like the parade so he was left at home.

Here they are in 2012 … and yeah, maybe that other guy isn’t so happy to be there, except I think he was just yawning. (Parades bore him.)

And here they are in 2013. I didn’t take this picture!! I found it on Gothamist. It’s a fabulous shot though, I wish I could say I did take it.

Tons of sirens drew me downstairs last night. I don’t know what happened, but there was lots of FDNY activity, but no fire, on the corner last night. They checked the building, then put up police tape around that part of the block, and at that point I went home. Maybe I’ll see what is up when I go out later.

I was talking to my cat Finney yesterday, it was the usual babble: “Who’s the most beautiful cat in the whole wide world, who is the cutest, who is? Who’s a beautiful boy??”

AND, Siri was somehow activated on my phone, I don’t know how, I never use Siri and I’m not entirely sure how to activate her. Anyway, she was on and she attempted to answer the burning question: “Who is the most beautiful cat in the whole wide world?”

I wish I had saved her answer but she was basically telling me it’s okay to be gay. Something about it being beautiful and okay in her realm. It was quite sweet. So Finney, if you’re gay, it’s cool with Siri and me and the realm. Also, you’re the most beautiful cat in the whole wide world, tied with Bleeck.

Speaking of beautiful, the baritone who is going to be singing Elijah for our Spring concert, Philip Cutlip! Actually, come to think of it, we always have such hot men singing this part. Hmmmm. But this guy, not only does he have an insanely amazing voice, but he can act. For the first time I truly felt the horror of this one part we sing about (murdering a bunch of prophets). Come hear and see the beauty and horror!

I want to kiss them! Mama and papa would rip my eyeballs out though, I think.

Well, it’s an eaglet and an egg at this point. I can’t look away from this Bald Eagle web cam. The eagles (in Washington, D.C.) have been working on hatching two eggs, and so far one has hatched the most adorable eaglet on the planet.
