I love stores like this. I don’t buy newspapers anymore, and I quit smoking in 1986, but still. I love them. Like everything else, they are disappearing.

BTW,Coke used to pay for the sign with their logo on it.
Unless the shop owner also owns the building, I don’t know how they make enough to pay the rent.
In nyc, that type of building was called a ‘taxpayer’ In years back,the owner usually occupied the store on the ground floor, lived above, and rented out the remaining floor(s). In many cases, the rent roll covered the monthly nut for the entire building.
Sigh. Those were the days. Sigh, sigh, sigh.
