My City Highrise Garden by Susan Brownmiller

Susan Brownmiller has a new book which is coming out on March 31: My City Highrise Garden. Susan is a friend who lives in a pretty fabulous apartment not far from me. It’s the envy of everyone who has visited. From the Library Journal: “In this charming collection of essays, feminist journalist, activist, and author Brownmiller writes with passion, humor, and complete candidness about 35 years of gardening on the 20th-floor terrace of her Greenwich Village apartment … Memoir lovers and gardeners alike will enjoy these adventures in urban gardening.”

I’m a new fan of gardening books, and I love the idea of reading about a garden so close to me. Susan is probably most known for her book Against Our Will: Men, Women, and Rape. But her other books include, Seeing Vietnam, In Our Time: Memoir of a Revolution, and Waverly Place.

A film shoot I passed by on 11th Street last night, on my way to choir practice.

  1. I’ve heard of Brownmiller but didn’t know she had written anything on Vietnam. I’ll be looking for the book now, thanks for the reference!
