Halloween in the West Village, New York City, 2017

Halloween is almost here! Haven’t seen the crashed Tardis yet though. This shot is from a previous year. The pictures following that are from one of the best holiday decorators in the West Village (and are up now, at Charles and West 4th Street).

Meanwhile, I’m getting a tooth pulled today at 2pm, after spending over a thousand dollars trying to save it (sob). Getting a tooth pulled is usually not a big deal right? I’m going to treat myself to a great big plate of macaroni and cheese to compensate for whatever I must endure this afternoon.

  1. I’m really sorry about your tooth loss. Especially since you were led to believe that it could be saved.

Usually, when I have a toothache or a less then annual checkup, and I am in pain, and the dentist does his excruciating but short-lived magic, I am so grateful for modern dentistry that I bless that I was born in the 20th century. I cannot imagine how generations of humans existed before novocaine and tooth extraction was perfected.

I long to see your kitties in their Halloween costumes.

  2. Same. I will never forget that series about John Adams, and it had a running thread about his dental problems (and his wife’s). It really brought home how lucky we are. Although future generations will look back on us and think the same thing.
